Cynthia Barrientos, an accomplished educator with extensive experience in children’s programs, is the Director of Alki Kids Place.
A long-time West Seattle resident who lives in the heart of Alki, Cynthia began her career as an elementary classroom teacher in Auburn. She has also served as Director of Seattle’s K-12 Homeschool Resource Center and as Director of Extended Day Programs for Westside School, where she facilitated after-school activities. Most recently she served as school administrator for Alki UCC’s partner synagogue, Kol HaNeshamah.
As Director of Alki Kids Place, Cynthia says that she is “delighted with this opportunity to serve the West Seattle community.” She explains that her goal is “to ensure an inclusive, safe, creative and playful environment with an emphasis on mindfulness activities and environmental stewardship.”

Wednesdays: 1:15 to 6:30 pm
$25 per regular school day (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday)
$30 for Wednesdays (all early dismissal this school year)
Our School Year Program engages kids aged five through twelve in a variety of activities including Arts, Crafts, Games, Beach Outings, Legos, Dramatic Play and much more!
Optional enrichment classes are offered monthly. Information on these classes will be emailed to you each month along with registration instructions.
Homework Club is offered Monday through Thursday. Children are provided quiet time and homework help for 30 minutes. Homework Club is optional and is offered free of charge.
Daily snacks and refreshments provided. *Children with food allergies must bring their own snacks.
We offer flexible scheduling. Register only for the days you need without paying for the full week or month.
